Regional Lombardy, Moratti: “They had offered me to be a minister with Meloni. I will win with the Expo method”

“The center-right offered me various positions, all very important. There was a hypothesis as a minister in the Meloni government, but it did not materialize. And here she tells how she came to run against the governor Attilio Fontana, of which she was vice president until a few weeks ago, and how now she will also have to contend with Pierfrancesco Majorino, candidate of that Pd that the former councilor is courting openly. “From the center-right they offered me various positions, but I’m not interested: I prefer positions. I courageously chose to be at the service of my region, as I did when they called me technically to manage the vaccination plan. This is why I chose to leave an armchair, not to accept other assignments and place myself at the disposal of my citizens”, explained Moratti.

Who in these days is openly trying to free herself from the label of center-right councilor: “I distanced myself from the first measures of the Meloni government. I want to measure myself on the contents and I’m not afraid to measure myself against anyone. Says Moratti, who today called “both Majorino and Fontana and I asked them to run a loyal campaign, because the interest of our citizens is that we measure ourselves on contents and not on sides. Both have agreed. Certainly at this moment there is great turmoil in politics, with a right-right and a left-left. I expect surprises: the political scenario must make us reflect on the need to fill the political vacuum that is being created in the center. I define myself as a liberal and popular. If I have to recognize myself in a label, I am referring to the social doctrine of the Church. But these are cages and the voters want to be able to refer to competent and experienced people”.
