Golar Tundra in operation by May

The Golar Tundra, the regasifier ship bought by Snam for 350 million dollars, arrived in Piombino in the night between Sunday 19 March and Monday 20 March. The Frsu was built in 2015, was purchased by Snam in Singapore and flies the flag of the Marshall Islands. She is about 292.5 meters long, about 43.4 meters wide and about 55 meters high. The ship is equipped with four LNG storage tanks, arranged in the central part of the hull and is capable of storing around 170,000 cubic meters of LNG and regasifying 5 billion cubic meters a year. The plant is expected to enter into operation by May 2023. In addition to this ship, Snam has purchased the Bw Singapore which is expected to arrive in Italy at the end of 2024 to enter service off the port of Ravenna. This ship too has a regasification capacity of 5 billion cubic meters per year. Thanks to these two regasification terminals, Italy’s capacity should increase from 18 billion cubic meters in 2022 to 28 billion by the end of 2024.
