5 days of isolation may be enough to go out after contracting Covid, all even without a tampon. This is the hypothesis of “simplification” of the quarantine being examined by the Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci. Who said: “We are working to make the quarantine of those who are positive shorter, possibly also eliminating the final swab”. The proposal comes after the Spallanzani Institute sent an opinion to the Ministry of Health on possible new rules on the isolation of positives. They are expected five days of isolation for asymptomatic people and five days even for those with mild symptoms if you don’t have a fever, but be careful to use a mask if you haven’t become negative in the following days. It is therefore superfluous to have to carry out the test and be negative in order to be able to go out after 5 days.

Spallanzani’s opinion

“The virus is less pathogenic – explains the director of Spallanzani, Francesco Vaia – it is the phase of empowering citizens not of obligations: we can no longer not look beyond our backyard for a public health policy that is able to protect certainly local populations, but with an ever more attentive eye to the global spread of current and future pandemics”. In his opinion, the Institute underlines how «in many countries the period of isolation for people who tested positive has been drastically reduced. We believe that for asymptomatic people, isolation can last 5 days from positivity, without the need for a further negative test. As for those with mild symptoms, we believe that isolation can be interrupted five days after the onset of symptoms, if without fever for 24 hours ».

Slow vaccinations

These days the ministry is then at work for launch an information campaign to promote the vaccination campaign by the end of next week flu and anti-Covid. “We need everyone’s commitment to encourage participation in a vaccination campaign that has already begun throughout the national territory,” added Schillaci.
