Rai surveillance, agreement reached: Floridia of the M5S towards the presidency

An agreement has been reached between the majority and the opposition on the Rai Supervisory Commission which has been convened for next 4 April. In fact, the six-month stalemate for the presidency seems to have broken free. The negotiation between the majority and the opposition has led to an agreement on Barbara Florida of the M5S: the Sicilian senator will have to leave the role of group leader of the Movement at Palazzo Madama, where a two-way race opens to replace her, between Stefano Patuanelli and Alessandra Maiorino.

This is how the main box was defined, traditionally intended for a representative of the opposition, of the parliamentary body, made up of deputies and senators, called to supervise the work of state television. In vain are the latest attempts Matthew Renzi to propose Maria Elena Boschi. Augusta Montarulian FdI deputy who resigned as university undersecretary in February after being convicted of improper use of the funds of the Piedmont council group, should instead have one of the two vice-presidents of the commission.

Already in January the axis between the Pd and the M5S had taken shape which, by keeping the Third Pole out, had directed the choice towards an exponent of the Movement. The first candidate, Richard Ricciardi, the road was blocked by the absolute veto of the majority. In the end, while many thought of a postponement after Easter, somewhat surprisingly, the choice fell on Floridia, one of the five exponents of the Joseph Conte in the commission, which went from 40 to 42 members in January. In the majority, in particular in Forza Italia, not everyone is particularly enthusiastic, but in the end an agreement was found. We will now deal with the other bicameral chambers.
