Quarrel with Mourinho, federal prosecutors refer referee Serra: “Insulting and offensive”

Referee Marco Serra, the fourth man in the championship match between Cremonese and Rome, was deferred by the federal prosecutor after the dispute with Josè Mourinho. The investigation was triggered after the Portuguese’s complaint in the post-match press conference, complaining of a disrespectful attitude of the match director towards him. The investigations by the federal prosecutor revealed Serra’s violation of Article 4 of the Sports Justice Code and of the Code of Conduct of AIA members. “Inappropriate, abusive and even offensive behavior of the words used”, reads the deed of referral.

Furthermore, the reconstructions of the public prosecutor’s office confirmed that Mourinho, who approached Serra to ask for clarifications on a referee decision during the second half of Cremonese-Roma, was addressed “the following words: ‘Everyone is fucking with you. Go home, go home'”. Now it will be the Federal National Court that will have to judge after Serra’s referral.
