Government to the European Commission’s attack on the proposal for a directive on green houses, which for Italy would translate into the need to renovate most of the residential properties to bring them into energy classes E and D by 2030 and 2033. In fact, 74%, that is 11 million properties, according to Enea estimates, are those that are in a class lower than D.

Flexibility
The directive will be voted on tomorrow in the committee by the European Parliament, and should arrive for consideration by the plenary in March. According to the rapporteur Ciaran Cuffe (Verdi), «in Italy there is a lot of disinformation: the amendments adopted leave ample flexibility to the States for their national restructuring plans, they will help create jobs and make available European citizens houses that consume less energy, improving the quality of their life». Tiziana Beghin, head of delegation of the 5 Stars in the EU Parliament shares the objectives of the directive but asks for more “graduality”, because “we cannot change the building stock overnight” and to make the superbonus for renovations structural and of a European nature.
