Swg, 50% of Italians dissatisfied with the government team

“The government team that emerged from the negotiations between the parties of the majority arouses mainly negative reactions among the citizens” even if “Draghi’s executive obtained an even worse judgment in February 2021”, according to the Radar Swg survey between 26 and on October 31st. When asked how much the interviewee feels “satisfied with the composition of the new government”, 50% said they were dissatisfied and only 35% satisfied (15% did not express themselves). “In fact, the voters who voted for the 4 center-right parties on September 25, in absolute terms, account for 27% of the total electorate, so in the judgments the basis of support for the government starts from a minority position” explains Swg. The most common criticism (37%) is that “the ministers are on average not very competent”. For 17% they are on average “too old” while for 12% they are “too political”. The names most esteemed by the electorate are Nordio, Giorgetti and Crosetto followed by Crying himself on a par with Tajani; among the center-right electorate he is also in a high position Adolfo Urso. In general, continues Swg, “among those who vote for the majority parties, two thirds are confident that the Meloni government will be better when compared to its predecessor, while the voters of the Democratic Party and Action-IV expect a worsening. Many supporters of the M5S instead they see no particular differences. “

Swg, 42% of Italians ask for interventions against the cost of living

Absolute urgency for purchasing power, but attention also to the health chapter, again emerges from the Radar Swg survey carried out between 26 and 31 October 2022 on a sample of 1,200 interviewees, which instead shows the lack of relevance attributed by Italians to some Issues about which, in the political debate, there is much talk: the reform of justice and the increase of security is indicated only by 12%, the constitutional reform by 3%. If for 42% of respondents the priority is to intervene to reduce the effects of the high cost of living, 31% indicate an increase in workers’ wages and, with the same percentage, support for families with no income or low income. Tax reform is indicated as a priority by only 21% of respondents and on the scale of emergencies comes after the improvement of health services (28%). Then there is the reduction of bureaucracy (19%); support for small and medium-sized enterprises (18%); interventions for greater environmental protection (17%); greater control of the flow of immigrants (15%); pension reform (14%); justice reform (12%), increased security of citizens (12%), reform of the Constitution (3%).

Swg, 60% of Italians are for summer time against expensive-bills

In Italy, the preference clearly prevails for maintaining daylight saving time even during the winter, with a view to obtaining some savings on energy consumption: 6 out of 10 citizens would prefer to avoid the time change and keep daylight saving time in force even in winter. This is still the result of the survey carried out by Swg on a sample of 1,200 Italians, also interviewed on the exceptional heat wave that is occurring in this period. The impact on bills will undoubtedly be beneficial, but the direct observation of the effects of global warming leads to consider the environmental issue more significant, especially among young people. For 56% of the interviewees, in fact, the anomalous heat is considered a source of concern because it demonstrates the effects of global warming: among these, 64% are between 25 and 34 years old and 61% are resident in the South or in the islands. The third “dilemma” refers to the conflict in Ukraine. In order to hope to put an end to the energy crisis, it is necessary for the war to end. The Italians are quite divided on this issue, but the hope for a rapid resolution of the conflict prevails even at the cost of ceding the conquered territories to Russia. In fact, 46% of Italians hope that “an agreement will be found at the cost of granting Russia a part of the Ukrainian territory, in order to alleviate the energy crisis”: among these, 52% are between 35 and 54 years old.
