The pension reform
The pension reform will revolve around the number 41: these are the years of contributions that are sufficient to leave one’s job, regardless of age. Not immediately, however. The first version of the so-called Quote 41 will be calmed, it will therefore be necessary to have completed a certain number of years. On how many, exactly, the government is still working on. The best option on the table is to set the threshold at 61, but the range goes up to 63.
The provision on pensions has a certain urgency, to avoid the “staircase” that would be created with the return of the Fornero law, which provides for retirement at 67 years of age. And, as the Minister of Labor, Marina Calderone, also reiterated, it will have to be a structural reform and well written for avoid issuing a series of “stopgap” decrees over the next year. For this reason, the executive asked for the intervention of INPS with precise calculations and simulations to get an idea of the cost of the measure.
