Pension and Quota 103, who is it better for? The ceiling on the check at 2,818 euros, timing and age

What the 2023 Budget law decided

As we know, Quota 103 is the early way from work introduced by the Meloni government with the latest Budget Law and which until 31 December 2023 allows early retirement with 62 years of age and 41 of contributions, therefore with an advance of the personal data requirement a good 5 years. However, the Meloni government has introduced a very important variable compared to the previous Quota 102: those who access Quota 103 will not be able to have a pension higher than 5 times the minimum benefits (from 2023 the new minimum pensions are above 563.75), i.e. not above 2,818 euros gross per month. Furthermore, the pension cannot be combined with other income from work, except for self-employment for a maximum of 5,000 euros. In the government’s intention Quota 103 was to be abandoned at the end of the year to make way for Quota 41, but the funds are not there and also for 2025 the reform that is so dear to the League will not see the light. By the autumn, however, when the new Budget law will be passed, the government will have to find a solution to avoid returning to the Fornero Law, find a bridging measure that ferries to 2025 in order to be able to re-propose Quota, if they are found for that day the necessary resources. And one of the most popular hypotheses is the one-year extension of Quota 103.
