Yes to bread, pasta, biscuits, purée, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, coffee and oil. But no to alcohol, frozen foods or medicines. The solidarity card “Dedicated to you”presented on Tuesday 11 July at Palazzo Chigi and designed for about one million and 300 thousand households with Isee under 15 thousand euros, it is connected to a basket, a very precise list of goods. Only for these products will it be possible to spend the 382.50 euros of the one-off contribution starting on 18 July. But what can you buy?

The card is designed to support families in greater economic difficulty due to inflation, a high cost of living that mainly affects the shopping trolley. So the main products such as bread, pasta and rice are included in the basket but also legumes, milk, butter, eggs, fruit and vegetables, sugar, honey, sugar, chocolate. Food not considered essential, such as beer and wine, but also carbonated drinks, frozen foods and sweets remain outside. Products that do not appear in the ministerial list.

Card holders will then be entitled to a 15% discount on shopping in large-scale retail stores that adhere to the convention which always concerns the same basket of products. In practice, a discount that can be combined with promotions already active on solidarity products. For example, if there is already a 30% discount on vegetables that can be purchased with the card, the reduction reaches 45%. The Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, then recalled that the tool “remains in the field, being a rechargeable card on which to converge resources that can be useful to continue this virtuous support project and even perhaps to expand its audience” .
