Oh, and the environment? The progressive short-circuit in the face of the battle on excise duties

The requests of those parties that ask for the restoration of fuel discounts demonstrate once again that little or no attention is now paid to the merits of the issues, preferring to let ignorance and lies triumph

I wrote a few days ago, about the great fuss about fuel prices, that ignorance of things is a very ugly beast, to which I add now that the bigger the lies, the more true they seem. Especially in associating the terms speculation and cartel practices with the reviled oil companies, while ultimately setting the prices are the approximately 22,000 managers with 240 registered brands. Indeed, looking at the data, it emerges that fuel prices have increased almost exactly by the eliminated drop in excise duties decided last year by the Draghi government (equal, from 22 March 2022, to 30 cents per liter and from 1 to 31 December to around 20 cents). The final prices have increased even less than what could have happened, looking at the increased international quotations of petroleum products (not oil!), to which the internal ones are logically anchored.
