Still 8 hours – from 7 to 15 – to decide the fate of the 41 Municipalities in the ballot. It starts again from 4-2 for the centre-right in the first round and from 7 capitals still to be assigned (the outgoing administrations were 8 centre-right and 5 centre-left). This is the first electoral challenge between Giorgia Meloni and Elly Schlein. Turnout is down: at 7 pm yesterday only 27.65% had voted against 35.95% in the first round. Together with the ballots, there is also voting for the first round in 39 municipalities in Sardinia (Assemini and Iglesias alone have more than 15,000 inhabitants) and in another 128 in Sicily, including 4 provincial capitals (Trapani, Syracuse, Ragusa and Catania).

Any ballot will take place on Sunday 11 and Monday 12 June. The Sicilian electoral law provides for theelection in the first round for the most voted mayoral candidate who obtained at least 40%.

Vicenza, the dem try the coup by starting with the advantage

Overturning the prediction seems to be the mantra of the match in Vicenza. On one side Giacomo Possamai, center-left candidate, tries the knockout blow: conquering the city administered by the center-right, 46.2% strong in the first round. On the other, the outgoing mayor Francis Rucco tries to reverse the situation: two weeks ago it stopped at 44.1%, just two points behind its challenger.

Pisa, after touching it Conti seeks reconfirmation

In Pisa we start again from the thrilling finale of the first round of Administrative, when the outgoing (centre-right) mayor Michael Conti failed to be reappointed for a second term by a handful of votes: he obtained 49.9% of the votes against 41.1% of the challenger Paul Martinellisupported by the center-left and the Five Star Movement Now both start from scratch on the ballot.

Siena, a female challenge that focuses on the undecided

Win over that 40% of voters who chose another candidate in the first round: in Siena the duel in the ballot passes from the undecided and from lower percentages than elsewhere. An all-female challenge. The outgoing centre-right administration and the coalition candidate, Nicoletta Fabio, took 30.5%. Not even two points below, at 28.8%, is Anna Ferretti, who is aiming for victory for the centre-left.

Ancona, the center-right race to conquer the red fort

In Ancona, the only regional capital to vote, the hare is the center-right candidate Daniel Silvetti which took 45.1% two weeks ago. To chase him Ida Simonella (for the centre-left) which stops at 41.3%. It is a duel that has a strong symbolic meaning on a political level: since the beginning of the Second Republic, in fact, the city has been administered by centre-left forces.

Massa, the coalitions regroup to conquer the second round

In the first round the coalitions presented themselves fragmented, and so in the first round many votes were dispersed. Now both the centre-right and the centre-left are hoping to recover part of that consensus. The outgoing mayor Francesco Persiani, focuses on FdI which did not support it two weeks ago when it took 35.4%. While Romolo Enzo Ricci, stuck at 30%, looks (also) to the vote of the Five Stars.

Terni, the patron of the football team tries the shot

The outsider of the first round, the only name outside the coalition schemes, tries the coup. Stefano Bandecchi, patron of Ternana and candidate of Popular Alternative, with his civic lists reached 28.1% in the first round. Ahead of him by more than seven points – at 35.8% – is Orlando Masselli, candidate from the centre-right, who already administers the city (outgoing mayor Leonardo Latini).

Brindisi, the test between Pd and M5S forced to chase

In Brindisi, the center-left together with the Five Stars must chase: the candidate Roberto Fusco two weeks ago he obtained 33.2% of the votes. The centre-right candidate has the advantage, Giuseppe Marchionna, which took 44%. However, the votes cast in the first round by the outgoing mayor, Riccardo Rossi, supported by Avs, who finished fourth with 10.1% of the votes weigh heavily on the ballot.
