Municipal 2023, campaign in the final squeeze: here are which cities Meloni and Schlein are aiming for

The center-right aims to wrest Brescia and Ancona away from Pd. The centre-left aims to reconquer the former Tuscan red strongholds of Siena, Massa and Pisa. These are the key challenges on which the attention of the national parties is focused in view of the local administrations of 14-15 May (next Sunday and Monday).

Big on the pitch

Schlein and Conte, parallel campaigns

Brescia

The center-right wants to return to govern in Brescia after ten years of Emile Del Bono mayor. For this he focuses on the strong man wanted by the leader of the Carroccio Matteo Salvini: Fabio RolfiNorthern League former deputy mayor sheriff and regional councilor, who has compacted the entire center-right around his name

The occasion is tempting, given the divisions in the centre-left: after long discussions she was nominated Laura Castelletti, who does not have a Pd card and is Emilio Del Bono’s deputy mayor and councilor for culture. Castelletti is also supported by Italia Viva and Azione I 5 Stelle who have put together a left-left coalition, together with the PCI (complete with the hammer and sickle symbol) and Unione Popolare, around the name of Alessandro Lucà.
