Motorway toll bonus, who can ask for it and how to apply – Corriere.it

Hauliers will be able to submit applications for contributions for the reduction of motorway tolls, up to a maximum of 13%, for passages made during 2022. The application procedure has already started and applications can be sent until 2 pm on day 11 June 2023. The procedure was communicated a few weeks ago by the Ministry of Transport. The central committee for the road haulage register then gave the go-ahead for the allocation of 140 million euros for the reductions. But the ministry has already approved a further allocation of over 148 million euros for the reduction of tolls paid also in 2023.

Who can ask for the bonus

The motorway toll bonus can only be requested by companies that carry out road haulage activities, whose vehicles are used to transport goods. In order to access the support, the vehicles must be at least Euro 5 or higher, or powered by electricity or alternative traction. They must also fall within specific classes for calculating the toll: the vehicles used by these companies must refer to classes B, 3, 4, 5 (based on the number of axles and gauge) or classes 2, 3 or 4 ( based on volume).

By how much the reduction

In order to access the refund, the total value of the motorway toll invoices must be at least 200,000 euros. The reduction, which in no case may exceed 13% of the value of the annual turnover, is calculated on the basis of the various brackets of the annual global turnover, on the basis of the ecological class, which corresponds to a different percentage of reduction.
