Meloni’s tax reform is acceptable but there is a challenge: that of growth

Reading the documentation which presumably should provide the basis for the discussion of the next Council of Ministers allows us to confirm the initial assessment (already advanced in these columns on 9 March): the tax reform proposal that the executive could prepare to present touches many of the weakest aspects of our current tax system and appears, under many points of view, to be shared and potentially capable of restoring it to a reasonable degree of efficiency and effectiveness. This does not exclude that a supplementary reflection may be useful and perhaps even necessary to achieve the objective.
