Meloni: “There are no conditions for the resignations of Donzelli and Delmastro”. Then he invites everyone “to a respectful discussion”

Interviewed by journalists during the press conference in Berlin with the German chancellor Olaf Scholzhe had promised that today he would give the answers on the case Delmastro-Donzelli. And the premier Giorgia Meloni choose to do so by writing to Corriere della Sera a letter in which, without beating about the bush, he tries to end any controversy: “I invite everyone to a respectful discussion, but I don’t think there are the conditions for the resignation of Donzelli and Delmastro”. No yielding therefore, but a strenuous defense of the two exponents of the Brothers of Italy who in recent days have attacked the four exponents of the Democratic Party who went to see last January 12, the anarchist Alfred Cospito imprisoned under 41 bis in the Sassari prison (now, due to his serious health conditions due to the hunger strike, he could be transferred from the Opera prison to the hospital).

“Certainly the tones have raised too much and I invite everyone, starting with the exponents of Fratelli D’Italia, to bring them back to the level of a frank but respectful confrontation”, writes Meloni. “I don’t think there are in any way the prerequisites for the resignation that someone has requested. “Moreover – he adds – the information contained in the documentation which is the subject of the dispute, which the Ministry of Justice has clarified is not subject to secrecy, was even anticipated by some media. There are, in my opinion, clearly instrumental aspects in this fuss”.

The prime minister, who yesterday from Berlin called on all parties “to have a sense of responsibility” and “to unity against the anarchist threat”, accuses the Democratic Party of using “instrumental tones” in her letter.
