Meloni: “The united center-right has indicated me as prime minister. Now I govern as soon as possible “

The shortest round of consultations in republican history has ended – 11 minutes in all – during which the united center-right, led by Giorgia Melonimet the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

With Silvio Berlusconi to his right e Matteo Salvini on her left, the future prime minister of the country declared the need to give Italy “a new government in the shortest possible time” because, she recalled, “the urgencies we face are very many, both nationally and internationally“. Giorgia Meloni then added: “All the coalition that came together this morning, not by chance, gave a unanimous indication as representing the parliamentary majority, proposing to the President of the Republic to entrust the undersigned with the responsibility of forming a new government”. The leader of the Brothers of Italy then commented: “The coalition will now await the decisions of Sergio Mattarella, and we are already announcing that we are ready”.
