Meloni risks getting wrapped up in the “Piano Mattei”

Giorgia Meloni practically assumes the operation. “The new Pnrr will allow Italy to make a strong contribution to the implementation of the Mattei Plan in order to consolidate the process of diversification of supplies towards a total elimination of Russian gas and to make Italy an energy hub in the Mediterranean for the whole Europe”, the premier said two days ago during the meeting at Palazzo Chigi. And yet, even assuming that this phantom “Mattei Plan” really takes shape, it must be said that implementing it through the vehicle of the Recovery plan is at least prohibitive. And it is no coincidence that the heads of the large state-owned companies summoned to Palazzo Chigi to discuss the dossier also reported it to the government.
