Sergio Mattarella will meet Ursula Von der Leyen in Milan on December 7th. Both are guests of honor at the Prima della Scala and at the ceremony of greeting from Bocconi to the president Mario Monti.
In the middle of the day, the President of the Republic and the President of the European Commission will have an interview in the Prefecture which will be followed by lunch. It is not the first time that Ursula Von der Leyen has come to Milan: on December 19, 2021 she was present at the inauguration of the academic year ofCatholic University of Milan celebrating its 100th anniversary.
The announcement of Mattarella’s presence at the Prima della Scala was given by Sala
The mayor of Milan had made the announcement on 3 October. “I have informed the Board of Directors – Sala said – that the Quirinale has confirmed the presence of the Head of State, who accepted my invitation. I am more than ever happy that Mattarella is coming to La Scala again this year where he has always been welcomed with great affection and enthusiasm from the public. And I’m sure he still will be.”
