Mattarella: “The future of Italy beyond 2026 is linked to the Pnrr”

With the Recovery plan, Italy has made a commitment to the EU that must be honoured, says the head of state on the second day of the Festival of the Regions
“The massive funding provided by the EU Commission is intended exactly for speed up the infrastructure of the country by bridging the gaps, starting with that between the north and the south. Faced with challenges of this magnitude, the convergent commitment of the institutions and of all political and social forces is required. A commitment that we have made in Europe and which must obviously be honoured“, said the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at the “Italy of the Regions” festival.
“The Pnrr, the result of the initiative of the government and the Parliament and shared with the European Commission, indicates objectives, in terms of reforms and investments, to which it is linked the future of the country well beyond the implementation deadline of the Plan, set as we know at 2026“.
“President Fedriga appropriately defined the Pnrr as ‘an extraordinary moment of potential development for our country’. And the willingness of the Conference to contribute to the implementation of the Plan by promoting the integration of all public policies and a homogeneous development of the territories should be appreciated The loyal collaboration and openness to dialogue, confrontation and collaboration that the regions show deserve to be embraced by everyone in the interest of Italy”.
