Mattarella still “slightly positive” at Covid-Corriere.it

“I would like to express my regret for this particular and singular way of connecting, for my non-presence there, but however slightly, I am still positive for Covid and I wanted to avoid the risk of transferring it” to those present. Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, via videoconference for best wishes to the Italian military contingents employed in international theaters of operations. “However, I didn’t want to give up on this appointment in any way, which I consider of great importance for the Republic,” he adds.

“The large presence in missions abroad underlines how the work of the armed forces makes a great contribution to stability and peace in the world” is the message addressed by the Head of State.

“Italy continues to provide a great contribution that is increasingly of great importance in the international organizations in which it operates, i.e. the pillars of our defense policy: the UN, NATO and the EU – Mattarella underlined -. I also want to express a spontaneous more than dutiful thought to the fallen, the pain and gratitude for their sacrifice, remember not to be set aside”.
