Mattarella on the eve of April 25: “Keep your memory alive, don’t forget those who fought to defend freedom”

On the eve of April 25, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella talks about the Resistance meeting at the Quirinale a representation of combatant and weapon associations, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Liberation. The head of state praised “the commitment and determination that your associations employ every day to keep alive the memory of one of the most dramatic periods in our history, contributing largely to making known and not forgetting those who fought for defense of the ideals of independence and freedom which allowed Italy to be liberated from Nazi-fascist oppression”.

Mattarella on April 25, after paying homage to the monument of the Unknown Soldier at the Altare della Patria at 9 in the morning, will travel to Cuneo, Borgo San Dalmazzo and Boves in Piedmont, accompanied by ministers Crosetto and Casellati. There will also be the premier Giorgia Melonihis only commitment on tomorrow’s agenda.

Mattarella expressed his “appreciation for the efficient, brilliant and rapid operation that was carried out in Sudan for our fellow citizens” to the defense minister.
