The center-right takes back Latina. Matilde Celentano is the first female mayor in the history of the city. Supported by Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Matilde Celentano Mayor list, UDC-DC and Forza Italia, it clearly imposed itself on the outgoing mayor Damiano Coletta, supported by Pd, Movimento 5 Stelle, Per Latina 2032 and Latina Bene Comune.

Victory dedicated to women

“I dedicate this victory to all the women of my city. It’s an amazing result. I am happy, moved, excited, but I feel all the responsibility of putting a city in a state of neglect back on its feet. I am comforted by the fact that I will not be alone, being able to count on a solid majority – said the new mayor – This victory proves us right on the centre-right political proposal, which is credible and feasible and which, I am sure, will be able to give answers to the city ​​and to the entire Latina community, which awaits the realization of a development project”.

The profession of doctor

The mayor was born in Carbonia, Sardinia, on 14 October 1959. She arrived in the province of Latina when she was 13 and lived for three years in San Felice Circeo. Then he moved to Latina, where he attended high school and graduated. In 1987 he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome La Sapienza. In 1991 at the University of Milan she obtained the Specialization in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, specialization in Posturology and Kinesitherapy. Celentano is currently the medical director of the Asl of Latina.
