Luxury cars know no crisis, record numbers in 2022 for Mercedes, Rolls Royce – Corriere.it

The crisis does not affect the luxury car sector: in 2022, the British manufacturer Rolls-Royce achieved the highest annual turnover ever recorded in 118 years of existence, with a total of 6,021 units sold. The figure shows an 8% increase compared to 2021, with deliveries to customers in around 50 countries, said the company, which belongs to the German BMW group. The data released by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, with sales dominated by the US, China and Europe, contrasts with the rest of the auto market which is struggling to recover from the pandemic and suffers from a global shortage of semiconductors. UK new car sales in 2022 collapsed to their lowest level in 30 years, despite a rebound that began at the end of the year.

Lamborghini also announced in August that it had already pre-sold all of its production until the beginning of 2024. The bull’s house continues to break records, with 9233 cars delivered worldwide, for an increase of 10% compared to 2021. Analyzing markets, Asia saw sales increase by 14%, America by 10% and EMEA by 7%. The United States confirms its first place overall with 2,721 cars delivered, followed by the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong & Macao with 1,018 cars delivered, and Germany which closes this podium with 808 cars delivered. As for the models, the Urus remains at the top with 5,367 units, ahead of the Huracan chosen by 3,113 customers, and the Aventador, with 753 cars delivered.

Bugatti delivered 80 cars, the highest number in its history. Despite the global logistics and supply crisis, Italy grew by 10% and became the company’s main market, while the Multistrada V4 was the motorcycle most loved by Ducatisti with over 10,000 motorcycles delivered over the last twelve months. Numbers in hand, 2022 for Ducati ended with a record number of 61,562 motorcycles delivered to enthusiasts from all over the world, a result that goes hand in hand with the successes achieved by the motorcycle manufacturer in the racing arena. Sales grew by 3.6% compared to 2021.
