Lufthansa: “Our 325 million to Italy, not to the State. Linate and Fiumicino are central”. Synergies with Fs

ROME – Lufthansa enters the capital of Ita (41%, for 325 million) because the Italian company has the right industrial dimensions, without gigantism and waste. Therefore it is ready, in a structural way, to hit the budget profit as early as 2025.

Thus the CEO of the German group Carsten Spohr in a press conference on the agreement reached yesterday with our Ministry of the Economy, which is selling the shares of the blue carrier.

Lufthansa explains that its check (of 325 million) it will not go to the Italian State. On the contrary, it will end up in Ita’s coffers, fuel for its relaunch. A relaunch that will also be able to count on one last contribution from Italy (for another 250 million).

To Egypt and India

The manager explains that the acquisition involves absolutely limited risks for Lufthansa. Having a minority stake (41%) means that Ita’s losses will not be acquired, consolidated in the overall financial statements of the German group.

Spohr indicates Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate as the two pillars on which to bet. Fiumicino will connect to the most profitable market in the world (North America), but also to South America which has enormous historical ties with our country.

Lufthansa also mentions Cairo in Egypt and New Delhi as destinations that the company will reach massively. Linate, on the other hand, will be the gateway for all European tourists who want to spend even previous stays in the splendid locations of the North.

The German group is also betting on the synergies that will be achieved with Ferrovie dello Stato, which has a decisive infrastructure: the high-speed train that connects Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples with remarkable efficiency.
