“Let’s get elected 2023” campaign, today is the last day to run and get support to become mayor of your city

ROME – Last day, today April 17, to propose your candidacy and obtain the support of the Campaign Let’s Get Elected 2023, promoted together with Candide you. All inspired by the idea that politics shouldn’t be a privilege for the few. In fact, since 2019, the project has contributed to electing regional councilors and councillors, mayors and company representatives in municipal councils throughout the country. They were helped with donations from a fundraiser and skills were made available, building a network. In short, a collective project to build social justice.

The selection criteria. The initiative is aimed at candidates who will be able to tell their story and the reasons that lead them to stand as candidates in the elections of their municipality. Also in this edition, there will be support for candidates for City Councils in large cities and also for those applying to become Mayor/Mayor in small and medium-sized cities. The final selection will take place by reconciling different principles: from gender balance to territorial distribution, with particular attention to young people, women, people of migrant origin and the expression of rooted communities.

For those who want to do politics. with “Together for a purpose” alludes to alliances with other citizens’ organizations, researchers and/or institutions that want to achieve a particular result through collective and public actions. In some cases they were born from the proposals of the Inequalities and Diversity Forum, in other cases around themes and objectives considered strategic. With the campaign #Let’s get Elected The ForumDD has started a collaboration process with Candide you precisely to support activists and militants engaged in society, both in the public and private sectors, in their desire and willingness to make politics in the institutions.

The prerogatives required. In the selection process it will be considered relevant to have had a role in mobilization or administration experiences for the achievement of social and environmental justice objectives, with particular attention to the ability to build social dialogue and to combine different knowledge and interests. Furthermore, the reasons for one’s choice and the main and concrete objectives that it proposes will be requested and it will be essential to be free of any conditioning and with full transparency of the financing of one’s political path. We also remind you that everyone can participate in the campaign through crowdfunding by donating a small or large amount that will go to support the people we choose.
