The Monegasque remained in the pits for 9.4 seconds

Between lap 17 and 18 of the Hungarian GP Charles Leclerc he found himself from fourth position to eleventh. First the overtaking on Hamilton when the Englishman returned to the pits, then the problem at his pit stop.

Hungarian GP: Verstappen wins ahead of Norris and Perez. Bad Ferrari

A stop that for the Monegasque lasted a long time, too long. A good 9.4 seconds. An eternity that cost Leclerc seven positions. It all happened due to a problem with the gun when changing tyres: the Ferrari mechanics were unable to change it as planned and the driver was stationary longer than expected.

And at the end of the 70 laps of the Hungaroring it was once again to celebrate Max Verstappen who took his 44th career win, 9 this year and 2 in the Hungarian GP after last year. Red Bull’s number 1 was followed on the podium by McLaren’s Lando Norris and on the other Red Bull’s Sergio Perez. On the other hand, the Ferraris were bad, finishing in seventh (Leclerc) and eighth place (Sainz). The Monegasque also had to discount one 5-second penalty for excess speed in the pit lane.
