Juventus leaves the Superlega project. The announcement by the Juventus club tonight that it “confirms that it has begun the exit procedure” from the project, “while recalling that, pursuant to the applicable contractual provisions, the prior consent of Real Madrid is required for the withdrawal to produce its effects, FC Barcelona and other clubs involved in the Super League Project.
On 6 June, Juventus had stalled before saying goodbye to the project and had revealed that they had sent a communication to Real Madrid and Barcelona, ”the other two clubs which, like Juventus” had not “exercised their withdrawal from the Super League project , in order to start a period of discussion between the three clubs concerning the possible exclusion of Juventus from the Super League Project”.
The time for discussion with the two Spanish clubs is therefore over and this evening Juventus released another note which closes the chapter: “Following these discussions, and taking into account some differences on the interpretation of the agreements applicable to the Super Project Lega, Juventus confirms that it has started the exit procedure from the aforementioned Project”
