Justice, Nordio-Meloni cracks. Forza Italia pushes on the Third Pole: now we make an axis in Parliament

Rome. The day after the last white-hot confrontation between the Minister of Justice and the Magistrates’ Association, silence triumphs. As if all the protagonists were afraid to draw the consequences and the season of the perennial clash between politics and justice began again.

In the parts of the Anm, water is thrown on the fire. It is not exactly the case to rekindle the controversy and therefore we try to limit the incident to the “slip” of a former colleague who has worked in politics and is particularly susceptible to well-argued criticism. Therefore the magistrates will try to close it there, however, ready to react firmly if Nordio resumes his frontal attacks, and even insists on not wanting to recognize them as interlocutors. «Especially since up to now the availability for dialogue has always been affirmed», he says. Technical tables had been promised; in some cases the ANM has already participated in meetings at the ministry.

In the majority, the moves of friends and enemies are scrutinized. A tweet from Enrico Costa, deputy secretary of Action, spearhead of guarantees, did not escape: «For days, various magistrates have been contesting the minister, in the silence of Palazzo Chigi. Keep in mind that if Nordio gets annoyed, he’ll say hello to you ». He is echoed by Maurizio Gasparri, vice president of the Senate, Forza Italia: “The justice reforms will continue with the separation of careers and the end of the politicized togas bullfights within the CSM”.

Now, it is no secret that those of the Third Pole and Forza Italia are Nordio’s most enthusiastic supporters. Much more than the League or its own party, FdI. To say, the distances with Andrea Delmastro, the undersecretary who acts as a bulldog on behalf of Meloni, have never been bridged. Just as the rumors of the premier’s impatience with Nordio’s bellicose tones have not been denied by Palazzo Chigi. A silence that made many think within the majority and also outside. And Nordio would not have taken kindly to this dissociation of the Prime Minister, nor the tact shown for the robes.

The Minister of Justice will go ahead only if he has the consent of the leader. This reveals a crack in the government relationship that Third Pole and Forza Italia are ready to aggressively exploit. The axis is in the facts. In the guarantee heralded everywhere. But this convergence will be even more deepened during the parliamentary work, and Meloni is not a little worried. On wiretaps, interrogations and precautionary measures, up to the long-promised separation of careers later in the autumn: Forzisti, Renziani and Calendiani want to make the proposals even more radical. For Renzi it is a question of “courage”, for Berlusconi’s heirs also of “identity”. In the hours immediately following the death of the founder, the most critical wing of the Azzurri reasoned precisely on this horizon. On how the survival of the party also passed through some identity battles, useful for differentiating itself from Meloni and to avoid ending up cannibalized by the premier’s party. Justice is perhaps of all that can most characterize the recipes of the Berlusconi. But which can also prove to be a detonator within the majority. Because it is able to create alternative alliances to the coalition. It is perhaps the theme on which Renzi can most easily measure the government’s destabilization plan, as leaked two days ago to Licia Ronzulli, Forza Italia group leader in the Senate. —
