Italo-Itabus, train-bus travel for Campania, Puglia and Sicily with a single ticket – Corriere.it

A network of train-bus connections to connect the large cities of the central-northern with the main tourist destinations and beaches of the South. From 21 June Italo will offer a series of train-road travel combinations, with a single ticket valid for both means , thanks to the acquisition of Itabus completed at the beginning of May. The news for now concerns the main tourist destinations in Campania, Puglia and Sicily. With this operation, travelers will have a real integrated mobility service at their disposal, a project in which Italo believes and has been studying for years to facilitate travel around the area – explained Gianbattista La Rocca, Italo’s CEO, announcing the acquisition of Itabus – . With a fleet, for now, of 51 trains and 100 buses, but which may grow in the coming years, we will connect all of Italy, serving large cities, tourist villages and infrastructure hubs such as ports and airports 24 hours a day.

Campania and Puglia

For Campania there will be two outward journeys and two return journeys from Pompeii and Sorrento to Rome, Florence, Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Milan and Turin, making the change at the Naples Afragola station. As far as Puglia is concerned, the towns of Polignano a Mare, Porto Cesareo, Nard and Gallipoli will be served: you will arrive at the Bari station and then go to the beaches with the Itabus coaches. There will be four trips per day (two outward and two return), which will allow reaching Puglia from Turin, Milan, Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Florence and Rome.

Connections with Sicily

In Sicily, however, the destinations of Giardini Naxos-Taormina, Catania, Enna, Caltanissetta, Agrigento, Milazzo, Cefal and Palermo will be served. You will arrive by train to Villa San Giovanni and from there, with Itabus, you will take the ferry to arrive in Sicily. Also in this case there are four connections per day (two to go and two to return).

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased on all Italo channels: the italotreno.it website, the Italo Treno app, Pronto Italo. But they can also be purchased at station ticket offices and travel agencies.
