The revocation of the strike

From what has been learned on Friday the union-ITA agreement could not be formalized precisely because there was no information to the board of directors its go-ahead.

The unions of Ita Airways have been complaining for some time that payrolls are lower than those of low cost airlines. The increase in question should lead to the airline’s coffers – according to estimates by Courier — an additional spend for personnel of around 64 million euros a year. As of 31 October, the airline had 3,842 employees: 750 pilots, 1,455 flight attendants, 1,450 ground workers, 150 located abroad, and 37 executives.

The negotiations

The comparison on the increase in wages takes place in the middle of the negotiations between the Treasury and Lufthansa for the entry into Ita, in the minority, of the German carrier. From the end of January, the 60 days – working – of the exclusive negotiation started which around mid-March should lead to the signing of a preliminary agreement through which Lufthansa will enter up to 40% in Ita with a reserved capital increase of the value of 250 -300 million euros.
