“Deep roots do not freeze”, concludes Isabella Rauti, who quotes one of the iconic phrases of the Italian right, taken from The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien. Born in the province of Catanzaro on November 19, 1926, Giuseppe Umberto Rauti at the age of 16 volunteered in the Italian Social Republic and in 1946 he participated in the foundation of the Movimento Sociale. He was its secretary from 1990 to 1991. After the Fiuggi congress in 1995 which he vigorously criticized and which transformed the Social Movement into a National Alliance under the leadership of Gianfranco Fini, Rauti founded the Fiamma Tricolore Social Movement.
