In Puglia the Budget passes (also) thanks to Action. And the councilors are extending their mandate

The regional budget passes with the vote of civic, yellow-red and the three Calendians. Approved an anti-Decaro codicil: the council extends his life by six months if Emiliano is a candidate for the Europeans. And so the mayor of Bari will have to compete for the succession of the sheikh without sash

In the Grand Bazaar of the Puglia Region, the approval of the Budget is just a detail. The mini-financial company is the script on which a new Pirandellian comedy unfolds which disrupts the national schemes of politics. The law passes without a hitch, and in the final counting of the votes, the three councilors of Action also join the green light of civic and yellow-red, despite the recurring sparks between the sheikh Michele Emiliano and Carlo Calenda. Explains the commissioner of the former minister’s liberal democratic party, Fabiano Amati: “We have built this law, and except for the provisions on reclamation consortia, real bandwagons, we have been an active part in this legislative process. Hence the favorable pronouncement”.

In the courtroom, in the two days of sitting, the governor showed up only in the final two hours. First there was a tussle over the “anti-Decaro” codicil approved at the end of a picaresque process. This is an amendment that extends the legislature of the Council by at least eight to ten months in the case – not at all of school – that the governor Emiliano in 2024 is a candidate for the European elections. The law disrupts the electoral calendar: in just over a year the mayor of Bari Antonio Decaro the second term will end and he will have to run for the presidency of Puglia without the tricolor band. And in the back room Joseph Conte he works for a grillino candidate from the wide field: Senator Mario Turco. Emiliano instead gigioneggia: “Who says that I resign before time. Hic manebimus optime”.

The decarians (two dem regional councilors, Francesco Paolicelli and Donato Metallo) and the leader of Action , Fabiano Amati, while the Prime Minister, the dem Loredana Capone, did everything to delay the discussion. In the end we went to the vote with a ploy: Paolicelli proposed the text by Salvini’s De Blasi with a sub-amendment and Capone had to put it to the vote. The decarians attacked the majority and the opposition by defining the measure “caste privilege stuff”, alluding to the effects on the additional salaries that the elected officials were guaranteed in this way. Amati denounced mercantile practices in the preparatory phase of the application. The center-right remained a silent spectator, knowing full well that the civic and dem area of Emilian reference had participated in the drafting of the text (some argue that the grillini also participated in the blitz, which however they deny). The vote was by secret ballot: 37 in favour, 9 against and two abstentions. Considering the numbers of the opposition (only 15 elected), the majority split and voted en masse for the amendment-policy that extends the life of the council (with a good 94,000 euros of insured salaries), tripping Decaro (also a message from a congressional point of view?).

The dem regional secretary, Marco Lacarra, expressed a surreal bewilderment only after many hours: “A serious event has occurred. If someone in the Democratic Party thinks that one can be credible after such acts, I am very happy that soon I will no longer hold the position of secretary “. Amati’s summary: “The parties of Meloni, Salvini and Berlusconi – comments the regional commissioner of Action, Fabiano Amati – team up with Emiliano to spite Decaro. And the 5s don’t miss their vote “. The center-right rebels: “The law restores centrality to the Council and removes it from political games”. But they don’t stop: Sheikh Big Mike, to shore up the majority, has appointed a former AN elected in Forza Italia (now civilian) as managing director of Urban Planning, Stefano Lacatena. The same one who only ten days ago had negotiated a return to Berlusconi’s house with the Roman Azzurri top management. But in the end he preferred to align himself with the law of the Grand Bazaar.
