Anonymous posters praising the march on Rome appeared today in Paternò, the center of Catania where the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa was born. The complaint comes from the Sicilian secretary of the Democratic Party, Anthony Barbagallo. “Just on the day when the new Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni declares to the Chamber that she is against all authoritarianism, including fascism – writes Barbagallo in a statement – a very serious fact happens in Paternò that cannot go unpunished”.
In the posters, without any signature, two dates are indicated, October 28, 1922 and October 28, 2022, on a tricolor background, and the words “A people on the march”. The reference to the centenary of the march on Rome that led Benito Mussolini to the head of the government is evident. Barbagallo, who is also a member of the Chamber, invites the mayor of Paternò in the note “to immediately obscure these posters, primarily to protect the municipal administration, given that the posting seems to have been authorized by the Municipality itself”.
