In Naples (without De Luca) new wide field trials. Fico and Bonetti at the Pd against Autonomy event

From tomorrow the “One and indivisible” initiative. After the minimum wage, the law promoted by the Northern League Calderoli is an opportunity for Schlein and the opposition to seek common ground. The governor of Campania will not be there: a regional council is scheduled

After the minimum wage, will differentiated autonomy consolidate the opposition? It is perhaps still too early to say, but certainly in the two days that the Democratic Party has organized in Naples – Friday and Saturday – against the bill promoted by Minister Roberto Calderoli, we will try to test the ground. In the program of the initiative of “One and indivisible”, there are also the former Minister of the Family, Elena Bonetti of Italia viva – according to some parliamentary rumors coming out of the party, towards Action, for the more mischievous towards Forza Italia – and the grillino Robert Figwhich is at home in the capital of Campania.

Both will confront each other during the panel on Friday afternoon entitled: “The opposition to the Calderoli bill”. New wide field trials? Peppe Provenzano, Giuseppe De Cristoforo of the Italian Left and Enzo Maraio will also be on stage with themthe secretary of the Italian Socialist Party who a few days ago wrote a public letter addressed to all the leaders of the parties opposing the Meloni government, calling for a “joint initiative of all democratic, reformist and liberal forces” and the definition of a “national coalition perimeter” . The principle is the same as that sketched by the dem secretary Elly Schlein who would like to create a sort of platform, around the issues of work and health, capable of consolidating the agreement between the opposition parties on some points, leaving what divides in the background. A sort of Landini method, as we have defined it on these pages, revisited in a parliamentary key.

So far the good intentions of a “militant summer”. But there is no lack of controversy. And to make headlines on the eve of the Neapolitan event there is also a cumbersome absence: that of the president of Campania Vincent DeLuca. He won’t be there, tomorrow he has a regional council. for the examination of the bill “adjustment of the financial forecast budget for the three-year period 2023-2025 and budget change of the Campania Region”. No surprise, on the other hand the governor himself (who supported Bonaccini in the primaries) has never been tender – let’s use an ephemism – with the secretary. “The Campania Democratic Party has been kidnapped with painful arguments,” he said last week, referring to the local party’s commissioner. And again: “A vulgar media attack against me, also promoted by Schlein in the newspapers”. The story of the third term and that of his son Piero weigh heavily, downgraded in his role within the group of deputies in the Chamber. And yet, they assured Il Foglio dal Nazareno: “He was invited but he didn’t answer”. While from the president’s staff they reply that from Rome “they sent an email to the secretariat. They didn’t try very hard”. And exclude surprises and last minute second thoughts.

There is time until Saturday afternoon. Until then, the other appointments of the initiative will alternate – debates on the Constitution, local authorities and the Pnrr are scheduled – exponents of the reformist wing, such as Alessandro Alfieri, the mayors Matteo Lepore, Matteo Ricci, Antonio Decaro and Gaetano Manfredi, do the honors. In addition to Roberto Speranza, the Apulian governor Michele Emiliano and that of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini (who is also president of the party). The event will close with a speech by Schlein.
