In Molise Schlein and Conte sign the agreement for the Regionals: the unitary candidate will be the five-star Gravina

Elly Schlein’s Pd and Giuseppe Conte’s M5S will be allies in the next regional elections in Molise, scheduled for June. The decision was communicated, after long negotiations, by David Baruffi, head of the dem secretariat for local authorities. “In the early afternoon – she announced – both locally and nationally we found convergence on Roberto Gravina, mayor of Capobasso since 2019, as a candidate for the regional elections in Molise. Now everyone’s commitment must be to strengthen the unity and expansive capacity of this proposal to win the Regionals”.
Despite the concerns of Joseph Conte on a structural alliance, nationwide, with the party of Elly Schlein, in Molise dem and cinquestelle will march together. A signal towards that wide field that can give important results on the territory, as the recent surprise result in Udine seems to indicate and as the latest polls seem to promise, which see the Democratic Party clearly rising and a few points behind the Brothers of Italy, even if to the detriment of the 5 Star Movement which is declining compared to the September policies.
In Molise there will be elections to choose the new governor on 25 and 26 June and the center-left has therefore chosen to support Gravina, the current mayor of Campobasso elected in the municipality in 2019 on the list of the 5 Star Movement. To support his candidacy will also be the civic forces, gathered for some time in coordination with the center-left.
