With the dissemination of false information and related distorted reconstructions concerning my personal life, you have deeply injured my person and violated my right to privacy. But even more you have offended my dignity and my honor based on lies aimed instrumentally at giving a distorted narrative of my history and my identity.

You have alleged an alleged business connection between me and Mr. Francesco Meloni, father of my daughters, as I would have been a partner in a company with Mr. Matano in the same period in which he was a partner in other companies with Francesco Meloni. Instead, as easily verifiable, my minimal shareholdings in companies in which I was involved by Mr. Matano definitively ceased in February 2002, and therefore years before the establishment of the Spanish company which allegedly would involve Mr. Meloni and Mr. Matano, which arose only in 2004 when any type of relationship, even personal, between me and Mr. Matano had ceased.

It is equally false that, from the sale of my shares in Raffaello Eventi srl, I had a considerable capital gain.

Clearly defamatory is the narrative that you make of me as a skilled real estate businessman simply for having sold my home for an amount greater than the purchase price, as happened to many Italian families over the years. Just as deliberately defamatory are the suspicions you cast about the veracity of the fire that engulfed the house where I lived with my children more than forty years ago, if only because the Fire Brigade intervened to put out the flames.

Republic’s reply

Regarding what is represented by Mrs Anna Paratore, it is emphasized that in the “certificación de hoja registral”, an official deed filed with the Madrid chamber of commerce with number “tome 16455, sec 8, book 0, hoja M-279979″, it is disclosed that Nofumomas SL is a Spanish company established in July 2001. It is also written that on 1 March 2002 the board of directors is made up of: Simona Meloni (President), Raffaele Matano (“Vocal”), Francesco Meloni Incroci (Secretary), Barbara Meloni (“ Vocal”), Maria Grazia Marchello (“Vocal”). Until two weeks earlier, Anna Paratore had shares in two companies in which Raffaele Matano was also present. Reference is made to Lazio Consulting srl, in which Raffaele Matano he was sole director until April 24, 2002, as can be inferred from the Chamber of Commerce certificate, and to Gruppo Immobiliare Romano srl, in which Mr. Matano was sole director from May 23, 2001 until October 29, 2004 (Chamber of Chamber certificate). This is the company in which Paratore held shares until 14 February 2002 (Acts of the chamber of commerce dated 29-04-2002).

With regard to the complaint relating to the capital gain realized with the sale of the shares in Raffaello Eventi Srl, it should be noted that Repubblica has never written about capital gains to Raffaello Eventi. However, it should be emphasized that on 19 July 2012 Ms. Paratore purchased a total of shares for 2,000 euros and resold the same shares to her at a price of 48,000 euros. This circumstance was not told in the investigation “La Sfavorita” but verifiable from the notarial deeds held by the newspaper.

In relation to the sale of the “della Camilluccia” apartment and the fire that broke out inside it, Repubblica limited itself to pointing out how the statements contained in the autobiography “I am Giorgia” lacked some elements capable of giving a more complete to the reader. Indeed, it is in the text in question cited the book: “We found ourselves, out of the blue, on the street, alone, without a roof”. Through the examination of the documents it was possible to prove that the apartment was bought for 47 million and sold for 160 million nearly four years later. And that the testimonies of the time did not mention a fire that “took over the whole house”.
