The Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni published a post on Facebook on the subject of the anti-rave rule and in response to the controversy that sparked the approval of the decree.

«I have read several statements by opposition members regarding the measures taken in the Council of Ministers on the so-called abusive rave parties. First of all I would like to say that it is a norm that I claim and of which I am proud because Italy – after years of governments that have bowed their heads in the face of illegality – will no longer be a black shirt in terms of security. It is right to prosecute those who – often arriving from all over Europe – participate in illegal raves in which private or public areas are illegally occupied, without respecting any safety regulations and, moreover, favoring the sale and use of drugs. The exploitation of the right to demonstrate leaves the time they find, but I would like to reassure all citizens – if needed – that we will not deny anyone to express dissent. To deny it in the past, if anything, were precisely those who today attack the provisions of our Executive, defending in fact those who invade other people’s lands and buildings. We have shown that if the state exists, it can guarantee citizens to live in a safer nation and that similar episodes could have been stemmed in the past as well. Finally, I would like to thank the police forces who managed the clearing of the shed in Modena in an orderly and completely safe manner ».
