For the year 2023, more than 800,000 vouchers (exactly 800,985) have been issued for the transport bonus. This was reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, after a month fromactivation of the digital platform reserved for measurement. More than 41 million euros have been spent (41,417,602 euros to be precise). 58 million euros still remain available, in order to satisfy the requests that will arrive by the end of the year.

How to apply

All citizens who in 2022 earned an income not exceeding 20,000 euros can apply for the voucher. To do this, the potential beneficiary will have to access the ministry’s platform (available at this link) using their digital identity, be it Spid or Cie (electronic identity card). An application can be made for oneself or for third parties, in the case of minors. In the case of the request is made for dependent children under the age of 18, the income requirement in relation to the beneficiary and not the applicant. If the child is over 18 years of age, even if he is dependent, he will have to independently provide for the application. However, once the voucher has been issued, it is personal and non-transferable.

The value of the bonus

The value of the bonus cannot exceed 60 euros and is determined by the amount of the annual or monthly subscription to be purchased. It can be used to purchase subscriptions for services local, regional and interregional public transport or national rail transport. The bonus does not affect the calculation of the ISEE. Furthermore, the links to the most frequently updated tomorrows and all the contacts of the Urp online (Public Relations Office) are available on the ministry portal.

Requests in 2023

As regards the requests received so far, 61% of the cases are applicants under the age of 30. More than 1.8 million users have registered logins on the platform. The number of companies on the national territory has also increased – explains the Ministry of Labor -, for which at least one bonus has been issued: 38 more than two weeks ago, for a total of 933 transport companies, out of a total of 1,116 companies active in the peninsula, for which it is currently possible to request the transport bonus.
