How did the Democratic Party transform liberalism into an enemy of the left

I take the floor – as they would say in the Chamber of Parliament – “on a personal note”. Ever since (now over ten years ago) I decided not to be part of it I have carefully avoided – and I really hope I have succeeded – to express direct considerations or evaluations on the events of the Democratic Party. It wouldn’t have been elegant, so to speak. If I return to the subject today it is because the past decade allows me, I believe, but above all because Stefano Folli (on the columns of the Republic) kindly quote me among the exponents of the “reformist attempt” of the Democratic Party who today “propose their testimony while waiting for better times”.
