2023 opens under the banner of increases in fuel and gas prices. The worst blow for diesel, which in served mode will return above 2 euros per litre. Why? Blame three price increases. As regards the mode with the service, for petrol the average price remains at 1.779 euros per litre; the average diesel served remains at 1.844 euros per litre. The prices charged for LPG are between 0.768 and 0.787 euros per litre. The average price of CNG for cars is between 2.255 and 2.470 per kilo. Given these prices, if there are no last-minute changes, with the return of full excise duty, therefore from 1 January 2023 the average price of fuel served should rise to around 1.96 euros per liter for petrol and 2 .07 for diesel and at self-service at 1.81 euro per liter for petrol and 1.87 for diesel. All this while increases in motorway tolls are also expected.

The rises of the oil companies

Gas, bills expected to rise by 22-23%

But not only. Increases are also expected for gas bills for those who remain on the protected market. On 3 January the Arera Authority (which has just updated the electricity tariffs) will communicate the new tariffs for December 2022 (the method has changed since October and has become monthly and retroactive). The price, which is based on the average gas prices on the Italian PSV wholesale market, is expected to increase. According to the forecasts of the deputy director of Staffetta Quotidiana Gionata Picchio, gas bills will increase between 22 and 23 percent.
