Giro d’Italia: Roglic does the feat, wins the time trial and snatches the pink jersey from Thomas

The Slovenian Primoz Roglic, Olympic gold medalist in the Tokyo time trial, won the twentieth stage of the Giro d’Italia, the Tarvisio-Monte Lussari Tudor ITT uphill time trial of 18.6 km and in fact also the Giro. The Jumbo-Visma champion finished with a time of 44’23” ahead of the Welshman Geraint Thomas who reaches 40″ thus losing the pink jersey and with it the 2023 Giro d’Italia. Final parade in Rome on Sunday which will not change the final ranking. Before the time trial Roglic was 26 seconds behind Thomas. In third place in today’s stage, at 42”, the Portuguese Joao Almeida, excellent fourth the Italian Damiano Caruso (Team Bahrain-Victorious) at 55 seconds.
