Giochi Preziosi goes shopping again and chooses Spain where in 2019 it had already bought the Famosa dolls, a sector on which the president Enrico Preziosi is now relaunching. The Italian toy group has in fact acquired the doll and accessories business of Munecas Arias, an Iberian brand created more than 45 years ago in Castalla, near Alicante. To sell the Arias family, with the two brothers Kiko and Jos Arias who will remain at the helm. The company creates a handcrafted and niche production that we will distribute through our network throughout Europe, says Preziosi, on his way to the Nuremberg Toy Fair, alongside the managing director Marco Lischetti who aims to increase sales of these dolls through the Giochi Preziosi network which has five direct stores under the Giochi Preziosi and Giocheria brands as well as the network of 350 franchised Giocheria stores.

The family remains at the helm

The logic is that of a strategic acquisition, exactly like Famosa, again in Spain, and Trudi in Italy, adds Lischetti. The Giochi Preziosi group thus continues to bring assets on board to create value and capable of shaping a solid and lasting future. The market context is currently difficult, but the group continues its commitment to investing for the future, says the Preziosi group. After 45 years of hard work — adds the Arias family — we realized that to take our brand one step further we needed outside help. We see an extraordinary opportunity in front of us. We have shared and will continue to share the same passion and commitment with Giochi Preziosi in bringing a smile and quality products to all the children of the world, said Francisco Arias, CEO of Munecas Arias. The Spanish group produces dolls, accessories and handmade accessories of great quality and realism in Spain, distributed in more than 30 countries and one of the first companies to develop the Reborns newborn product line on a large scale, dolls that perfectly simulate reality and which are created using very complex and artisanal techniques.

The Giochi Preziosi group is preparing to close 2022 with around 350 million in revenues and growth is expected for 2023 – explains the CEO Lischetti-. By now the problem of shipments from China has been overcome and the situation has normalized, despite the current difficulties related to the return of the pandemic to the country. The purchase of the Iberian company benefits us because the dolls are all produced in Spain.
