Gaslini, awarded the tender for the renewal of the hospital

The board of directors of the Giannina Gaslini Institute has resolved to award the tender for the modernization of the pediatric hospital structure to the temporary grouping of companies made up of Cmb, Mieci and Arcoservizi. The intervention consists in the construction of a pavilion from scratch, in the extraordinary maintenance and re-functionalization of other pavilions dedicated to healthcare activities and complementary services and in the management of hard facility managementincluding the supply of energy carriers.

22-year concession worth 542 million

The award procedure took place with the application of the criterion of the most economically advantageous offer, which was identified on the basis of the best quality-price ratio. The duration of the concession will be 22 years and the estimated value of the concession, net of VAT, for the envisaged period will be 541.94 million.

«Today – underlined Edoardo Garrone, president of the Irccs Gaslini – is an important day: just two years after the presentation of the five-year strategic plan (May 2021, ed) we have arrived at the award of the tender to a RTI that will carry out the new Pavilion zero, the restructuring and modernization of our pediatric scientific hospital».

Design in record time

In a very short time, he continued, «our team of professionals, under the guidance of the general manager, Renato Botti, managed to go through all the planning, organizational and participation steps that saw the involvement of the entire Gaslini community, the organizations and institutions involved. All this allows us to open the construction site, with the preparatory works for demolition, by the end of August, a process that will end with the delivery of Pavilion zero, which must be completed by June 2026».

Public and private funding

The construction of that pavilion and the renovation of the existing pavilions have a total financial value of approximately 180.7 million euros, of which 50.3 million, equal to 27.8% of the total cost, to date have been raised through public funding, with no obligation to repay.
