Gas boilers, what will change for home bonuses with the stop from 2029: the new EU rules

The new EU rules

The EU regulation on Ecodesign, still under discussion, as well as banning the sale of gas boilers from 2029, a hypothesis to which Italy strongly opposes, proposes a series of new parameters for heating systems which could have repercussions on the home bonuses intended for boilers and heat pumps: the concessions currently in force in fact in the future could be destined to devices other than the current ones and exclude some systems that are currently facilitated. Already on the occasion of the presentation of the guidelines of the RePower Eu package, the EU executive had announced its intention to abandon gas boilers through the introduction of stricter limits. The directive on green houses also intervenes on the subject (the negotiation between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission has not yet started), which provides for a ban on concessions from 2024 for the installation of boilers powered by fossil fuels. This implies that already as of that date tax rebates for boilers may change.
