The majority stumbles on dl Work. The session of the Senate Budget Committee was suspended after the vote on the package of amendments to the decree ended in a tie. In fact, the center-right did not receive the hoped-for go-ahead and the final result of the vote was 10 senators with a majority in favor (absent the representatives of Forza Italia) and as many from the opposition against. Since there is no opinion necessary to examine the new modification proposals presented this morning in the Palazzo Madama hall, the commission session was suspended and at this point a conference of group leaders was convened to decide how to continue the work.

“On their symbolic provision, the Precariato decree, which they call the Labor decree, the majority goes under the Budget Committee. The comatose state continues…”, the M5S group leader comments on Twitter in the Senate, Stephen Patuanelli. But the labor rapporteur, Paola Mancini of FdI, replies: “It was an accident that shouldn’t have happened, but let’s remedy this too”.

From the Pd Antonio Misiani, economic manager of the dem, attacks: “Majority divided and crashed into a wall. The absence of Forza Italia senators was decisive. Classroom locked. Amateurs in jeopardy”. E Daniel missing And Beatrice Lorenzindem exponents in the Senate Budget Committee, underline: “This was a symbolic provision, but it turned into the first great failure of this majority”. The leader of the Democratic Party at Palazzo Madama is of the same opinion, Francesco Boccia, according to which the center-right is “in chaos”. “You can’t turn a blind eye – says Boccia – there is no such thing as an equal vote, an amendment is rejected if there is no extra vote and therefore today the Commission rejected the amendments”.

But, he adds, “the issue is also of merit, today the majority and the government were trying to put patches worse than the hole on the equivalence index, on accidents at work, on free work, on the use of workers who once took the basic income. All issues that we have contested and on which our proposals have not been accepted, then the majority and the government have patched up ideas to fill these gaps. The result is there for all to see: today all the amendments presented by the majority, it is not possible to re-propose them and it is no longer possible to tolerate the regulation a la carte“.
