The first doubts about fringe benefits
The extension of the fringe benefit threshold from 600 to 3 thousand euros which came into force just a week ago, from the publication of the Aiuti quater decree in the Official Gazette on 18 November, and is already among the providers of this type of service the first doubts about its functioning appear. The Meloni government has advanced the measure with the intention of providing additional support to Italians in the payment of domestic utilities (included in corporate welfare for the last months of 2022 as a novelty of the measure), but it seems that there may be few companies that will adhere and that therefore the impact of tax-free fringe benefits, also due to its rapidity given that it ends on January 12, 2023, is close to zero.
