Francis Giubilei is no longer advisor to the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, presented his resignation today. After Il Foglio reported the granting of a contribution of 46 thousand euros from the Ministry of Culture for a project for “interventions on the archives of political movements and workers’ representative bodies” to the Tatarella Foundation, chaired by Francesco Giubilei, the young councilor of Minister Sangiuliano da decided to leave office “for reasons of expediency”.

The Tatarella Foundation, as well as other similar institutions, participates in the tender of the Directorate General for Archives on the implementation of projects concerning interventions to be carried out on the archives of political movements and workers’ representative bodies or their representatives, at least since 2020 and the funding obtained over the years it is average compared to other organizations of the same type – writes Giubilei al Foglio -. It is represented that the Commission that selects the beneficiaries of these contributions is one Technical commission and is chaired by the director of Service II of the Directorate General for Archives. It also includes 4 officials from the same Directorate. Each project, before being admitted to funding, requires an opinion from the competent archival superintendency for the Region. I communicate – concludes Giubilei – that, in any case, for reasons of expediency, to continue the activity of president of the Tatarella Foundation, I have resigned from the position of adviser to the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano”.
