Forza Italia, end of the Miccichè era in Sicily: Schifani wins the duel and Caruso becomes commissioner

After more than 25 years, the era of Forza Italia in Sicily by Gianfranco Miccichéilia ends. Silvio Berlusconi has appointed Marcello Caruso as the new blue commissioner on the island, right arm of the governor Renato Schifani, former regional manager of local authorities and provincial coordinator of Forza Italia in Palermo. Game, match, match. The tug of war between the president of the Region and the dismissed former regional leader ends with a crushing victory of the former over the latter.

In Caruso (and Schifani) the keys to the Sicilian party in hand, which mark the end of the embarrassment about lists and symbols for the upcoming administrative meetings of 28 and 29 May in 129 municipalities on the island. An exhausting duel between the two exponents of the force that began last summer and which led to the green light of the candidacy for the former president of the Senate with the endorsement of the Brothers of Italy. Since then the incurable rift between Schifani and Micciché, which one after the other has seen the deputies take the side of the first tenant of Palazzo d’Orleans. Now the hardest slap, the last one. Which marks the knockout of Micciché, together with the end of an era for Forza Italia.
