Flavia Franzoni, the wife of Romano Prodi-Corriere.it, has died

Flavia Franzoni, the wife of former Prime Minister Romano Prodi, has died. With great sorrow, President Romano Prodi, together with his sons Giorgio, Antonio and his entire family, announces that his wife, Flavia Franzoni, has suddenly passed away today. This was announced in a release from the former prime minister’s press office.

Flavia Franzoni, a former professor of methods and techniques of social work at the Faculty of Political Science in Bologna, was 76 years old. She, together with her husband, had participated, in 1996, in the electoral campaign for the Policies, then won by the Ulivo. The two had been married for 54 years: in 2019 they had celebrated their golden wedding.

In 2015, a book published by San Paolo Edizioni entitled Together, written with four hands was released by the two spouses. In the description of the volume, Franzoni said: “Together” is the word and the concept that recurs most frequently in these pages. It refers to us who have written a book with a double signature after a lifetime of common experiences. It refers to the large family in which we found ourselves living. […] “Together” (as he usually says) is also the word most used by Romano in economics, when he describes the development of industrial districts or when he states that “regaining” development requires joint work and the continuous concertation of companies, public institutions , social forces, universities. A book for two voices in which, having had a prevalent part in writing stories of everyday life, I have tried to identify the experiences that have most contributed to “getting an idea” on topics such as family, school, children’s education , politics. “Together” then, but as a subtitle I could have added “many”.
